Dr. Kala, I very much believe that your body will try to get your attention in ways you won't like if you ignore what it's trying to tell you. I found the Hawaiian sayings interesting and spot on.
Part of the time I went through a chronic pain situation I wrote about where I healed myself was also a time I was doing a job that went against the grain for me, so I believe that was a contributing factor, and why after doing some mind-body work for awhile after anything serious physically wrong was ruled out, ultimately worked.
It definitely sounds like if writing is not enjoyable for you, like it is for me, more audio and video work will be what lights you up.
Absolutely, Melanie! I wrote this article to describe that whole process of realization when my body screamed at me. Now I'm ever closer to getting on camera more and writing less, though not giving up on it entirely! xoxoxox
I love that the Hawaiian teaching is so similar to the ancient spiritual Philosophy from many different cultures. They all seem to be saying the same thing. And I am surprised to find out that this famous saying „energy flows where attention goes“ originates from Hawaii. 🌺
I especially love what you said „I organize my life around flourishing and thriving,
and participating in those things that make life joyful and colorful.“
Let me start with Mahalo for being authentic, for sharing ancient wisdom. I recognize that your audience is for women and well I’m not that 😂.
Married to my bride now for 27 years, I still ask her everyday to marry me because I know it’s a choice.
There is very little out here on Substack about Huna.
Having studied Huna and NLP with Dr. Matt James from Kona and reading Serge Kahili King’s book Mastering your hidden self, I’ve found that these sages speak my native tongue.
I thoroughly enjoy your writing and see it as a gift. Pono 🙏🎁
Oh Rick! I can’t tell you how that lifted my Heart and Spirit to read your words. I think we can often wonder if what we are writing is really being seen or enjoyed. Bless you for your feedback and mentioning your past training. It’s great stuff and Mastering Your Hidden Self never gets old! Mahalo nui loa! Hope your Aloha Friday was happy. 🌺💛
Boy does it ever! I just haven’t figured out what universe is trying to tell me! 🤪
Plumbing issue that I cannot afford to fix. It is liking I am camping in my own house.
Then the air conditioner quit working properly. They gave me a temporary fix. It is an old one.
Yesterday, my battery was dead 😂
The battery might be fixable for not too much money.
Then of course with house issue my head is spinning. IF, someone would buy it as is. Then looking for a rental that is twice the amount of my house payment and we have dogs!
Interestingly my brain has always helped me figure out a solution to a problem. It just seems that the challenges are getting bigger.
After meditating a few days ago I was able to list what about the house that I am grateful for and that helped.
I still don’t really understand what I need to learn or do going forward. I don’t have family here and always worked in another town so I don’t have many connections. My adult son who is disabled lives with me.
Yeah I just found out my car battery bill is only $25!!!! I cried. Thank you 🙏 😊
Kathy you are on overload daily and that’s hard on the nervous system! Every day you need a little “me-time”. So glad to hear you’re meditating. That helps to reset the body and brain coherence.
I am going to send you the practice again to remind you what you can do to shift some of the challenges you are going through. It’s in your monthly paid subscription materials. I’ll do that tonight to your email. So do check okay? 🌺💛
Love this! So resonates with me. Going going going… and continuing to go, feeling as though I am in the flow and it’s all good until I realize once more I am rushing, overwhelming myself, pushing my limits once again. How it shows up for me is I begin bumping my elbows, breaking my fingernails, etc. I’ve learned to say, Nap attack! And get horizontal and enjoy this gorgeous day all around me, connect with nature, find my way back home to myself, back into my being instead of my doing.
Awww…dear Alchemy! I’m definitely one for naps! They really do help reset the body and brain coherence - as you know, my dear friend! Your input is always so welcome.
And the more women who admit that we do have a tendency to push ourselves past our “stop”, the more women will wake up to that habit in themselves too. Awareness makes a difference. Then we can change…
Wow -first of all - gorgeous pic of you! Secondly, loved this article. opened my eyes to my resistance and to what it could be telling me but I'm so cautious in life I'm always hesitant to step into the deep end and slowly play around in the shallow end wondering how to dive in. And then of course resistance stays around. Taking a look at that now and shifts that i could make and what is being told to me. Thanks for this.....Lots of love!
Karen thank you for being so vulnerable to share your own resistance foibles! I have something I am going to share with subscribers that will really make those shifts when you apply it. I forgot that I had created this process and template 2 years ago. How ironic since I needed to use them myself when going through the experience you are mentioning (My Confession...). And BTW, in case you didn't see, I went back in to make an addition to that article, because I felt something was missing. I hope you'll go check it out again. I actually sent out another post about that:
Tomorrow is my birthday so I'll be taking the day away at Minoan ruins and will get that gift out to subscribers soon after! Thx for being here with me on this journey! 😊🌺💛

This! This is the life I‘d love to live.
Ahhhh…yes Lin. I believe all human beings want these same experiences of joy, fun, and satisfaction! :) And it doesn’t have to be earned! 🌺
Aloha Dr. Kala
